Finally the giveaway!  Hosted by me but starring three amazing women and their unique brands.  Frankly speaking, I am not a big fan of giveaways, mainly because I never win them. Actually I do win, but rarely do I get the prize. Last time I won a giveaway, the sponsors asked me to show them an ID proving the fact that my real name was ‘RED HANDED’. Yes, such people exist.

Anyway, revenge is not the agenda behind this giveaway. The only agenda is trying out something different. Writing about women who strive to be different and giving you an opportunity to own a masterpiece made by them. Not because you cannot afford them, but because it’s a gift.

This giveaway stars three brands by three young women, women who became entrepreneurs in their early twenties.

MADHURI MAMGAIN- who is the accessory designer in Anurag Kashyap’s next movie, set to release on  28^th of November 2014. She has even designed the accessory wardrobe forAnushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor, Anita Kanwal, Shahnaz Husain and  Feng Shui expert,Gita Kapoor.

SOLE ART by KHUSHBOO REHANI- Just 21 and has a brand of her own. She treats every boring shoe like a canvas and turns it into a brilliant masterpiece. She brings funk to your feet. Just started a sub brand that goes by the name ‘SOLE CRAFTS’. This young lady is brilliant!

A WOMAN AND HER BRAND- MADHURI MAMGAIN

Shoes are my all time weakness. It is not that I have a closet like that of Carrie Bradshaw’s in ‘Sex and the city’ with a pair of $525  Manolo Blahnik blue shoes sitting pretty in it, but I do have my own affordable little collection. There is something about women and their perfect pair of shoes, a kind of love one cannot describe. Sometimes a pair of good stilettos is all you need as a confidence booster and for someone standing at 5’2 like me, good shoes are what I run behind!

Madhuri Mamgain understands a woman’s love for shoes. Born into a family that celebrates the beauty that is a fine pair of shoes, she grew up watching her father design for his portfolio season after season and a love story blossomed. It would be proper to say that her Father was her true inspiration.

Right after graduating from Footwear Design and Development Institute, she joined Carlton London in March 2011 as a Creative Designer but soon realized her true calling and quit it in July 2011 to start a label of her own. A brand, that took her name.

Her first collection called ‘Massif , hand painted ballerinas’ were an instant hit and rightfully so due to the delicate and intricate designs that she personally painted on them. Every ballerina had a story to tell and was designed according to the customer’s preference. Her first export order came soon in February 2012 all the way from Japan and her base slowly expanded to include clients worldwide

The latest collection is all about providing luxury to your feet and royalty to your look. Exquisite designs experimented on with Swarovski crystals, lace, intricate thread work and even velvet, the shoes have a regal allure attached to them. The designs are exclusive and every pair screams of the hardwork that went behind its making.

With a dedication like hers, she was rightfully chosen to be the accessory designer in Anurag Kashyap’s next movie, set to release on  28^th of November 2014. A WOMAN & HER BRAND- TARINI NIRULA

I am not a fashionista. To be quite frank, if you find me wearing anything remotely fashionable, it is probably an accident. Rarely do I look at an accessory or a bag and go ‘I need to have that in my life!’, but recently Tarini Nirula made me do just that!

Tarini is a young and vivacious Accessory Designer, an entrepreneur and the face behind the label that goes by the same name. Shortly after getting a degree specializing in Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, she decided to be her own boss and launched her label in 2011 which has been creating waves ever since.

She believes that ‘simplicity is the best form of sophistication’ and her designs reflect just that. Never the one to go overboard, the bags are clean and classy with an aesthetic boldness attached to them. They are what fine craftsmanship is all about. She also keeps her artwork exclusive, which means that all her bags are limited edition. Simply put, every bag is a masterpiece.

Her love for experimenting with colours, techniques, hand-done ink artworks and her constant strive to be at par with the international trends without giving up on her roots, is why she is so sought after. She showcased her bags at the Wills India Fashion Week where she created exclusive designs for leading fashion designer Jenjum Gadi. Soon to follow was a collection commissioned by the acclaimed textile designer Bina Rao.

THE RED HANDED "KYA CHEEZ HAI" GIVEAWAY !!!!!

If you have been a constant reader of this humble blog and have visited this place for 3 years from its inception, you would know how I have never been a part of any blogging tags, book reviews, birthday celebrations, award tags and giveaways. Meet KYA CHEEZ HAI, a brand that believes that even the most mundane products must tell a story. Being inspired by the famous dialogue “Mucche ho to Nathulal Jaisi ho warna na ho!” and understanding how much the Indians love their mucchas and chottees, this brand has given rise to characters with Mucchas that give even Mr.Nathulal a run for his money. KYA CHEEZ HAI is the only brand that tells a story through its products which range from USB’s, Paper Clips, Hangers, Over the door hooks, Coasters, Large and small bookmarks, Cable twisters, Bendable magnets, Magnetic Clips, Cushions and Hair brushes. How can such useful yet boring products tell a story, you ask? I tell you how.

Meet Mr. Parameshwaram Pillai a.k.a Pappy. He is a favourite babu among all the sarkari babus and is supremely famous for his snoring melodies in and around his office. He loves to feast on aloo parathas and Makhani dal which his great friend cum colleague Mr.Lovely Singh brings to office. Pappy is in-charge of a secret file, the file of secret recipes. He loves to break into “balle balle” every time he hears any word similar to it! Such a jolly fellow our Lovely is, though blissfully unaware of all the action around the secret file! He simply thinks that Pappy is hiding yummy idli dabba from him.

This Dakoo Dholakia was originally born as Jignesh and has an unending love for Dhoklas, Fafdas, Muthias and Theplas. He is on a quest to steal all the best recipes from the land of Gujarat and now the quest has lead him to the valley of Chambal. The fierce Dakoo is on a run from Daroga Saab and is stalking our poor Pappy for the secret file. While on the stalking job, he often bumps into Lovely Singh and is now great friends with him. Unknown to Pappy, Dakoo Dholakia is inching closer to him each day, week and month!

Lastly, meet Daroga Saab who is tall, strapping and a complete dude. He is on Dakoo Dholakia’s trail ever since he escaped from the land of Gujarat and came to terrorize the valley of Chambal. Our Daroga Saab is a gallantry award winner and is one of the few “non corrupt” in our services. We salute Daroga Saab!!

This story is not my invention but just like the brand, it is the brainchild of the amazing Uzma Ahmedi. A mother of an 8mth old, it is super-womanic that she runs the business single-handedly (yes I made that word up). Apart from the already mentioned epic characters, there are many more story tellers like Swargpur’s Hero No.1 Bulbul Pandey, his hot love Switty, Mr.Ranjit Kumar (RK) who is a self proclaimed Ranbir Kapoor, his ever blushing wife Banno Dhanno, their house maid Dhinka Chikamma, the horrific Firki Devii who loaths people that misread Devii as Devil and many more eccentric characters!
